I am impressed with the 3.0l with regard passing power, as on a recent trip when passing road trains in the west, I often saw 150-160 kmh as I was pulling left again. I just floor the throttle in S mode as I like to get around quickly because I feel so vunerable on the wrong side of the road beside them.
The general stability also at that speed on roads that are VERY ordinary was also impressive, but remembering I have come from a Nissan Patrol.
Having said all of that I did not notice any lowering at all.

You have to hold over 160 for quite a while before it hunkers down...

Dont know where you were trying "smwilk" maybe high altitude?

My 2.7L roars through 160.... I've had it sitting at 180 quite comfortably.

    Yep ............. mine too.

Between Coolgardie and Southern Cross there's some good sections of road. Takes about a minute above 160 before the suspension drops.

Guys, this discussion could be incriminating in this "fine" country. I'd be careful about discussing locations and speeds...... yes I know, I'm paranoid, but you never know who's reading.
