Read my comment, then read his reply...

Not once was it linked to an Ateco / Warn distributor comment..

But rather a comment on how they came up with the 'Australian' design... By most likely sending a Warn engineering drawing to China...

ok picked up a 12000lb tigerz grande for AU$639 on the show and will sent the non working hercules back. I that works out as they promised I'm quite impressed with their customer service. The Soleniod box of the Grande looks much better then hercules I have to say, far more solid and less water ingress I would think

also picked up a pair of Narva Ultima 225 for AU$270 which I think is quite a good price.

Peter Davis will install everything Thursday.

    Steve,

I picked up the same one, $639 with rope rather than steel cable, a great price they were walking out the door.

Now all I need to do is decide between the OL or ARB bar ?

    George,

I'm quite happy with OL bar, they had some issues with the LED's taking water (and mine where replaced) but that should be solved now.

I personally have an ARB bar however just note there have been numerous people on here and some who aren't that have found that they don't fit as nicely as an ARB bar, best to speak to people who have had them fitted by that branch to see how the process was, I can't fault mine, I have also heard that you can fit bigger tyres on the OL bar ( don't know how, but it has been said)

    Cheers

I have a OL bar and pretty happy with it.

Not sure how you can mount bigger tyres (I'd suggest you need to mount them on the hubs, not the bar)

I'm sure I'll have some continued trouble with the LED lights though as the white connector used is pretty average. I had a indicator light not working on the weekend and had to clean a connector up on the weekend and adjust the wires on it as they weren't making a reliable connection. When I have some time I'll replace the connectors completely.

Can you just clarify here, this is important as I am literally just about to make the decision. Which doesn't fit as well? The ARB or the OL?

I know of someone that took there OL bar back 4 times to get aligned properly to the point that he wanted his money back I also know of others who haven't been entirely happy with the final product, now whether this is a fitting problem or a problem with the bar I can't tell you, I know of others who love there's but I haven't met anyone who had a problem with here ARB bar. A mechanic down this way will only recommend an ARB bar and he's not even a stockist.

    Cheers

Mine was the first D4 OL Roo Bar fitted in Victoria, back in early December 2010.
I was happy with the fitting considering it was the first, and have been happy since.
An important thing to keep in mind is that if you are going to fit 285/60/18 tyres, the ARB wont allow them....yet the OL will.

    Well,

I will soon joint the list of owners with a OL bar and tigerz11 winch.

I order the bar yesterday, to be colour coded to the D3 (Zermatt Silver) and purchased a Tigerz11 12,000 lb winch with plasma rope from the 4wd show in the week end. I also getting a cargo barrier.

All being installed by Gordon at OL South in Rockdale in the next week or two, will post some images once complete.

Now to plan a trip and use it !

    George
