    D3 spare wheel carrier

    Hi all,

Firstly, great forum - good vibe & fantastic info available.

    I've recently jumped into a 2007 D3, having driven Defenders & Series Landy's since I had a licence...

I'm looking to fit a spare wheel carrier, and am interested in the 4x4de version - just wondering if anyone has one/fitted one/has any pics they could post as the website doesn't give away too much in that regard.

    Cheers,
    Simon

yes, that was my experience too. I couldnt find anything other than a reference from this website

To give you an idea of whats involved you could download the installation guide for the Dolium wheel carrier from the Dolium website www.dolium.com.au

I ended up getting one from another supplier and they all seem to go through the same process to mount it, give or take a couple of minor variations.

I put the "Frontrunner" one on mine - it was a pretty easy exercise. Measure TWICE and cut once is a good rule to stick to....

    cheers

Is it stiff to swing? Mine is quite stiff although I've only had the arm fitted a couple of times before removing it again. I'm fitting a gas strut anyway, partly because the stop mechanism is damaged.

There is a thread on this forum where this topic is discussed.
    Kaymar Rear Bar
The above is the title and there is good advice in there.
I have moved to the kaymar rear bar because of that advice and knowing my ability with an angle grinder i could wind up with a ute.
i'm sorry i do not know how to move the items in that thread to here.
