Just remember the Dual Carrier eats a significant amount from your carrying capacity...
OL want $1680... Bit better, i bottomed out on my 285 under neath today so still want one it's just because they're getting closer to the value of a dual so I'm considering those instead.

I got the same problem with spare wheels, the root problem is the 20" tyre get damaged easily. Seriously considering Big budget on GOE rim after big spending on bull bar, winch, etc. long range tank and rear wheel carrier are on the shopping list now. Weight up the priority, might be a good set rim and tyre are critical. OL quoted tank about $1300, wheel carrier around $1600. Shipping from Perth, save the freight if you are in the west.
Cheers,

That's what I ended up with Gary. $4000 for a Safari Snorkel, Front Runner Ladder($275), Outback Accessories RWC and 92L Aux tank, all fitted. Not too bad I thought.
Really don't know why so many people hate the RWC's being on. Unless you're using the car for shopping 3 or more times a week I suppose. Even then, it's really not that hard to open.. Fuel capacity so far, 750kms since a fill and the gauge hasn't moved but i'd say it's nearly empty...
Thanks to the personwho wrote the “Spare Wheel Winch Repair” found on page two ofthis post.
I followed therepair and filed my rounded mild steel post to square and it workedout well but my clutch plate still slipped over the nipples when itgot tight near the top. I ended up stripping again and removing theoffset plate and welding a 32mm pipe x 10mm deep straight to thenipple plate at the same offset. You could also use a 32mm to 33mmcore or welch plug if you access to braising tools. Now I have apositive feed and have to be careful not to overnighten but it’sbetter than buying a new winch.
I looked after my winch for years until the inevitable.
After the local big tyre shop ignored my request to "just put the repaired tyre in the boot" with the obvious consequences, we have been living dangerously for a while, though just in the city.
I've been tempted by the LRC & RWC, and if the car was a newer model, we would have lashed out.
However, I've noticed that the new style of winch can be had now for about $60-80 from US plus postage.
Seems solid, easy to fit and an early xmas present.
Still frustrates me why some people won't listen.
