HOW TO REFIT DOOR SKIRT AFTER HITTING A ROO

    Well,

Had the Easter long weekend down at Therdbo, left Sydney on Wednesday about 7.30 pm and made good time with kids sleeping in the back.

Commented to my wife that night driving in the country with the bar fitted was much more relaxing as were seeing lots of wildlife on the particularly after leaving Jindabyne on the Alpine Way, roos, wallabies and deer everywhere.

Anyway just passed through the NP gates and travelling at a 60kmph a wallaby jumps straight into my path and bang into the left front. Pull up, not a mark on the bar but the black plastic "skirt" that is on the bottom of the drivers door is missing, was loose anyway!

Turn around, find the wallaby dead on the road side and about 10 mtrs away my black door skirt.

    NOW MY QUESTION

I tried to refit it a couple of times over the weekend but no luck, are there any tricks or tips to refitting these ??

On the positive I made sure I commented to my wife that the bar has now half paid for itself !!

Check that all the clips are there, and not snapped (they're a bit fragile)

There's no real trick to it, just get it lined up with the clips, and give it a sharp wallop.

    Trombie,

Interestingly I do have sliders, but with the narrow side rails so no damage anywhere on the sills or doors just dislodged the plastic trim ?

Most of the clips are still there and I did try the give it a sharp wallop but might have to get the rubber mallet for extra persuasion.

had ine come loose on the front driver door. Clips were still there but would not lock it on, in the end I put silastic on each clip and a thin bead under the lip that would be hidden.

Wedged a piece of timber agsint it and some tape overnight and voila good as new.
