Hmm maybe you don't have to buy one now !

TDV6 is always an offroader/tourers choice. I have one & it is brilliant.
    V8 is my second pick.
V6 personally I would look at the V8 again. ;-)

I got 850km with about 1/8th of a tank of fuel left.
I certainly can get nowhere near that sort of mileage in the D4 TDV6.

There must be something different between the D4 TDV6 and the D3TDV6.

If you can get better than 680k's from a tank in the D4,you are doing very well.

And looking at other posts on here, others seem to be getting similar mileage from the d4 TDV6.

    Strange.

Is that the 2.7 or the 3.0? I get a little annoyed if I don't get 800km out of a tank... That's Adelaide hills driving and up and down the freeway mainly, whatever that can be compared to. I get more like 900km on the open road.

800k's,i wish i could get near that.......,900 on the open road,i am flat out getting 700k on the open road.

It is the 2.7,the 3.l is generally known as the SDV6.

Annoys me as the D2 was a lot better, and had a larger fuel tank.

I also checked mine with the OEM tyres and was no better than with the A/T's.

My SDV6 is now sitting at an average of 15lp100 based on 33000.

I do a lot of towing.....and a lot of highway too.

I do have a lot of gear so extra weight, but overall I find the economy disappointing. But when I compare it to my neighbours 200 TdV8....I am still in front on economy.

I have a 2 x 2005 TDV6 one S for the bush and one HSE. The S is fully loaded with Rear Bar, Bull Bar, drawer system, second fuel tank and sometimes tows the CT on top and with the Davis Performance remap I'm still happy with the performance, HSE has no moods but REMAP and it flies (for a 4x4).

The bush car uses on average around 13l though I never managed the supposed 10.5l in either car to be honest.

In my eyes they are definitely not underpowered I would go with the Diesel.

    Cheers

That's good. Nothing worse than a stroppy car.
