    GOE height sensor rods

    Hi all,

Has anyone successfully used the GOE rods without any issues. I am doing the Cape in September and looking for some extra ride height past 50km/hr. At this stage I prefer not to add the LLAMS kit as the cost can be better spent on more critical recovery gear.

    Regards

I used them for about 8 months. They were fine. Takes about 30 seconds to put them on each corner initially then about 5-10 secs to switch over as needed. To make the switch over easy each time, I did use a little spray on the knuckle that they connect to, so that they slid off and on nice and easy.

No concerns with the D4 suspension.

The cheapest lift kit available on the market for any 4wd!

Had mine on for a while now. Simple to fit and use. (even for me!)
    No car dramas whatsoever.
The only thing to watch is when you go into special programs, the height goes up automatically, putting you up to emergency height. No real problem, just worth watching and dropping back down if required

    Gerald,

I have had mine on for some time with no issues. Simple to install, simple to adjust and as there are no moving parts almost impossible to fail !

Only concern/issue I have had was that when using them the first times off road, I found myself regularly changing height which caused my air compressor for overheat.

Since then I just leave it in normal (off road) height and never had a problem.

So only issue was over exuberance on my part, and as Brett noted, cheap lift kit available anywhere !!!

As the others have said, you can't go wrong paying $130 for a lift kit!

They do what they say on the box and because no gadgetry involved can't fail.

Only issue I had was similar to Discoweb with compressor overheating if you change height frequently.

Great on sand just leave on normal (offroad) height and off you go 0-100kph with no height drop!

    Enjoy.

    Cheers

I have found them really good in places like the Simpson and other desert areas where deep wheel ruts can be an issue but a decent speed is safely possible. Easy to slip them on and off too.

GOE rods are easy to use and the more you change the the easier it gets. Thats is because you get better at locating them.

I have developed the habit of selecting. "Normal" height whenever I change terrain settings in the same way I check to turn off the DSC on sand etc. The main disadvantage is that when changing the rods it is hard to keep hands clean. I carry a clean rag if I need clean hands.

    Hi everyone,

Thanks for the feedback. I will give the rods a go for now, very safe and little to no hassle to fit. However it does appear after some time people splash out for Llams.

the trip to the cape will put the rods through it's paces.

I was spoilt with the V10 Touareg, it had full suspension control, lock mode and more.

    Anyway, that's history, moved on.

    Regards

Hi guys, bringing up an old thread here.

I'm keen to get a set of the 2 way GOE height sensor rods but have a question re the emergency profile height.

Using the shorter option on the rods would give an extra 50mm height to each of the default LR settings if I'm correct. So, what happens if the vehicle automatically selects the highest (emergency) height? With the rods in off road mode, would the suspension then raise to a height 50mm above the default emergency height? If so, what implications will this have?

    Thanks.

Interesting,i asked this question in another post, and didn't get an answer.

I ordered a set for a Simpson desert trip, but they arrived after we had left, and have never used them.

Maybe an email or PM to Gordon at GEO may be the go.
