    LLAMS issues

Hi guys. We've installed the LLAMS in my 05 D3 HSE tonight, with resulting suspension errors. after rechecking all connections, the one closest to the rear of the car wasn't seated properly. Hallelujah, the car decided to wake up and act normally after it was seated. The issue we now face is with calibration. Following the calibration instructions has the switch LED doing the right things, but the car does not change height.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated

If the module LED is alternating between green and off then no calibrations have been stored so do the process again in case a point in the instructions was overlooked, such as selecting off-road height before switching LLAMS from LOW to HIGH. You can PM me with your phone number if you like and we can have a chat.

    Beat me too it Graeme.

It can be a bit confussing but follow the steps carefully and you should be fine.

I don't know if you have already downloaded these instructions but just in case:

For the benefit of others, the red button is not used to start the calibration process.

My bad. I thought that shiny red button was used to start the calibration process. It was just sitting there tempting me. Thanks for your help Graeme.

This thing is awesome! Will highway driving at -20 (or even -35) upset tyre wear?

Someone had their wheel alignment checked at -20mm having just had an alignment at normal height and reported that the change was negligible. -35mm might be a different story though and anyway, even at -20mm my D4 has insufficient travel to ride the bumps smoothly on country backroads. -35mm was requested for Range Rovers in Germany on their smooth roads.

I have had my D4 on an aligner, and with the std settings available, access, normal and off road, the variations are great enough to cause excessive tyre wear. IMO, if you intend to drive on bitumen for long distances at a particular setting, get it aligned at that setting.

I had mine aligned at normal then had the tyre place recheck at -20 (which is where I drive it) and the difference was negligible, and within the factory spec.

At + 30 though, it was falling just outside of factory spec, and + 50 saw enough out of factory spec to reduce life by half.....on bitumen.

    My tyres are wearing nicely.

I do have a suspension fault come up if I let it idle a few minutes with car facing up hill. Happens same spot. Turn off and on and all good. Does not happen at any other time.

    Brett....
