    Where to put switches

As I am about to get both Llams and a probably a Long Ranger aux tank fitted to my D4 I just wondered where the switches/gauge could be put. I have already used the left side of the steering column shroud to mount the switch for my lights.
Also anybody had the FrontRunner aux tank fitted? Thats what I looked at first but though it looked a bit clumsy at the rear of the car.

I fitted my switch which is seperate to the guage in the flexible rubber shroud that moves up and down with the steering wheel at the bottom of the wheel.

The guage which is a flat rectangular LED one I fitted with Velco to the top of the steering wheel column.

If you are careful, there is room above the fold down panel under the steering column. The panel pulls down from the top. The spring clips are bound to go flying, so be prepared with a magnet. Once you have the panel down, the area above can be accessed. The area to the left of the existing light switches can be used, but the plastic on the panel is foam backed, and quite thick. You do need to be careful when cutting into it, and the switches used, have to be reasonably deep in their base. I used a narrow Narva switch with an illuminated toggle. This switch uses a barb type retainer. It won't grip in the foam if you cut it too big. Better to make the holes too small and enlarge if necessary. I also used the area to the left of the ventilation control for my Aux tank switch and indicator. The existing light control switches can be pushed out to improve access.
Take your time, and it almost looks factory fit.

For the LLAMS I used the drivers side cigarette lighter hole. Looks good.

Ok, try these. The round one adjacent to the vent control is the aux tank pump on/off and level indicator ( it is empty now ) The other two- one for the work light on the wheel carrier, the other is the front spotlight control. I have also located the switch detail for these two. I have used a Narva p/no 62003bl, and you get get them in a variety of led indicator colours. Hope this helps.
