Hi all, I agree with the general sentiment, manufacturers are able to calibrate trip computers to reflect the actual fuel use, so perhaps as suggested earlier it is about misleading the customers.
One thought Owen, ".......accept when the light comes on I have 100 kms left." except that the 100km is calculated on the basis that the remaining fuel will be used at the trip computers optimistic displayed fuel rate. Learnt this the hard way on very cold raining night when the trip computer told me I had enough fuel to make the next town.........except I did not, so, much stress and frustration later turned around and went back before I had reached the point of no return. This is the danger of information that is incorrect.
