    Correcting D4 fuel consumption readout

    Does anyone know how to correct the fuel consumption readout (besides changing to over-sized tyres)? I find mine is over 1L/100km optimistic, and would like to make it more realistic; is there a setting in the CCF to change it?

    Yes, the CCF contains a fuel economy adjustment factor. Mine was set to 7% ex factory but is now quite realistic at -4%.

    Okay, will take a look through the CCF this weekend. At least the IID Tool module backs up the original setting in case of stuff-ups.

    Apologies but what is CCF?

    Is it something you need to do with faultmate or something? I'd love to do the same adjustment to mine but have no Topix or any extra diagnostic tools.

    CCF = Car Configuration File

    You need a Faultmate MSV-2 or the new IID Tool/IID Tool BT to be able to edit it.

    Has anybody had any luck asking the dealer to do it? Mine would be reading at least 12% too low (reads over 1 l/100km lower than actual consumption).

    Cheers James

    Mine was at least 1L too low so my final -11% adjustment seems about right. It still varies + or - depending on driving mix but is mostly about right. I went too far during my testing causing the consumption to be pessimistic.

    Not here
    There answer was they can't fix it.

    Maybe they should have said don't want to fix it.

    As most seem to read 1l/100 lower than actual, can't see how most could be set almost spot on.

    Most other vehicles(that i know of) are very accurate.

    I Agree! My Newcastle dealer told me the same thing! (Maybe they should have said don't want to fix it).

    Pretty much what the service dept said as well.

    There was some excuse that with 2 turbos, the system did not know how much fuel it was using; don't know what the injection system is doing if it didn't know how much fuel it's injecting each time!

    Hope to correct that next week; found out that IID Tool needed a firmware update, which is out next week, to edit that part of the CCF.
