Just make sure you are covered fro off road if you do go off road.
Also clarify what the selected insurer classes as 'off road'. Most will consider 'off road' as not being on any gazetted (recognised/named/etc) road or track
ie real bush bashing type stuff. If it is a track or road nominated on a proper map, its unlikely be classed as 'off road'

    (according to AAMI anyways)

I went with Shannon's for extensive cover, anywhere in Aus I'm covered. Also I wanted it to cover whoever drove the car seeing my friend was sharing some of the driving on my last big trip.
$1299 per year but I pay no extra to split into monthly $109 payments.

My CTP (NSW Greenslip) insurance is due and a check has shown that my current insurer is asking $267 (or 50%) more than the insurance comparison check has come up with. I think a phone call will be in order tomorrow.

The higher rate was due to the fact that the insurance company had incorrectly recorded an 'at fault accident' in my records.

Shannons are good for classics but not so good for modern everyday drivers. Now I clearly do not know your driving history or circumstances but you are paying nearly double what I pay for my 07 RRS with a well known company.

Yes I did, the renewal is an automated response, my company does the same we add a % for a renewal and post it out, 99% continue with the renewal.

Does your insurance company automatically reduce your premium every year? the motto of the story is 'ask and you shall recieve' say nothing and do nothing and nothing will change.

    sounds ethical.
relying on people to be too busy/lazy to get a better deal when the company can offer it

Hi Garry, I'm about to buy a 2012 or 2011 Vogue which I will use off road, eg Gibb River, which company did you go with and do they cover you for off-road?

Sure, call it what you like, I'm sure if you just sit at home companies and government departments will be lining up at your door with money to give back to you.

Some insurance policies (particularly those that are offered by lease companies or company cars) will only cover on gazetted roads and often only the balloon payment not agreed value. Beware!
