Thread: Crank battery recomendations

I called LR assist and they replaced it for free....... I think it may have a 3 year warranty....

Mine failed about the 2 year mark, so maybe it only has a two year warranty

Mate,

I've had 2 batteries replaced under warranty inside the original car warranty. I'm now running an AGM supplied by LR.

I'd push that barrow before I shelled out for anything.

For some reason I had it in my head that the battery wasn't covered. I'll hit LR up for it

4 weeks ago I fitted a new L/R replacement battery from an independant parts supplier. $265. Cheapest part L/R provides I reckon!

(my old battery lasted 3yrs 3mths - I think that's about the average life for any starting battery)

Replaced mine in a MY07 late last year, date stamped on battery 10/06 (6 years old), nothing wrong with it but I was getting edgy and heading bush for a couple of weeks, still carry it as a spare.
New batt has had a rough trot alternator went kaput a month after fitting no warnings just a dead flat battery.

It might be circumstantial...as in what they consider fair wear and tear, in this case age.

Then again, they may think that it's too soon for the battery to fail.

Definitely worth asking the question.

Well worth a try,

LR Assist replaced mine also, albeit on the 3rd call out to jump start us! I think they replaced it with a Super Charge of some description.
