    First consumption check - 10.27/100km!

Trip computer was still showing 90 miles range but I took on 79l of diesel.

Garry: I'm stumped, I can't get the little 'i' to pop back up on the display... I did have it now it's gone. That could have been my chance to change the miles to km. I'll keep trying.. I'll look into the book and see what I can get.

10.27 is a bit different to your first post. That is only 770km from your 79l but it sounded like you were going to do a lot more than 750km based on your first post.

You are lucky you could use 79l. I have never managed to put more than 65l in my D4 main tank with 0km to go for a long time and below empty on the gauge. I rely more on my 110l long range tank to get a reasonable range but even then I rarely get more than 1400km using both tanks.

I am surprised some other S owners have not come along to assist as I know there are a lot on here who do not have the radio controls on their steering wheel.

Tapping the i button (not holding it should cycle you through l/100km, trip, distance to go, time and "i". When you reach "i" hold it for 2 secs and you should enter the sub menu (your on your own then). Holding the "i" when on l/100km for more than 2 secs will reset the message centre.

Sorry Bob, you are right about my initial count.. I was thrown by it but after a reset it was showing 90 odd miles (~140km) to go. I was able to put in 79l and I still had the gauge 3-4mm off the empty line not to mention the light never came on.

I need to find our what's going on.

Thanks Garry for your help, I just tried and tried and couldn't get the 'i' to pop up but now that you said cycle through I'll try doing that. All the posts online suggest going to the dealer to have it reset from what I've been able to find out.. But if I can change mine it will be a bonus.

I'll report also on my next fuel run.

Ok.. Just tried cycling through and nothing happened to make the little 'i' pop up don't know how I got it yesterday.

Bob: owners manual says the car has an 86l fuel tank. That would explain the gauge still showing some fuel and the extra range on the trip computer. So it's not the 80l tank we initially thought..

IIRC, on the D3 - you need to have the seat memory module (under drivers seat), in order to change certain settings.

You can add the stereo controls buttons to the base model steering wheel, but you still can't change settings until you get the seat memory module.

Rob, that's fair enough. I don't have that.
I'd think tho the miles-km is something accessible?

I just don't know how I got the 'i' yesterday..

I might of dreamt this but.........

I am sure that when I got my 2007 D3 V6 SE delivered I had to kick up a stink with the dealer because I couldn't display the same info as I was shown in the demo car. After a few visits to the service dept they did something that gave me what I wanted.

But maybe the S didn't come with some display options....

If it is any help I have put 82 litres in mine and still had 50klms to go showing on the read out !
Try not to do that too often.

My average consumption - up and down the Kuranda range road - is around the 10-10.5 per/100, usually fill up between 650 - 750klms.
On the road no van it runs at around 7-8klms/100, van (3tonnes) pulls it back to 15-16/100
