It can be done on the car, you will need a trolley jack or an extra pair of hands though.
Can someone tell me, does the ARB bulbar need to be removed to remove a winch or can it be done whilst on the car? Winch is a 9000lbs Magnum.
Cheers

I take mine out from underneath. Must have to be careful though as the cables supplied with the winch (Mines a Warn) don't have much slack in them.
A trolley jack is your friend because they're bloody heavy while you're lying on your back!

Thanks for the advice, I had this winch in a Patrol which was easy enough to fit and remove from under the bullbar. About to get my D3 ready for sale and don't think people would be interested in paying extra for the winch. Also give me a good excuse for putting a bar on the D4 I plan to upgrade to and refitting the winch that never gets used.
Have a 4.5ton trolley jack, so should be suitable help when removing.
Appreciate the feedback
Andrew
PS, there is about to be a well maintained D3 for sale, with a few extras added 178kms on the clock, in very good nick, could have an almost unused winch included.
This was a timely post!
It looks like I burnt out my Warn winch on Sturday when it was immediately put under load trying to pull me out of a bog. So I now need to pull it out and was wondering if it was possible to remove it without the bullbar removal.
