D4 MY14 Bull Bar Special Offer

Received email today from Landy offering the MY14 compliant bar at $2675 fitted. Looks great but pictures deceptive. How strong is it?
I rang the main dealer in Perth and they couldn't tell me a damn thing about it, weight, has it got antenna tabs, winch compliant etc..

Rang ECB and theirs has still not been tested on an MY14 model and soon MY15 model no doubt (what's the issue?)
ARB still not released theirs that has been under development all year..

    I'm getting roo shy!

In the past the store was owned by a Land Rover enthusiast,no longer.
toby is great to deal with and they pride themselves on a job well done.I visited 2 other OL stores, they wernt keen of doing Land Rovers and one said he isnt interested at all in fitting a bar to a D4.
Have you visited Albany OL,heard a few good reports about their work, was on toyota gear though.

It's not the most attractive front bar I've ever seen, but if it was colour coded, it might make it look at bit better.

At least it's a fairly reasonable ask & I guess no issues with warranty claims either.

Have a mate who has one fitted to his MY14. Chrome/shiney only apparently and no colour coding. Both he and I are not doing any 4wd to any great degree as we have ours as tow tugs. Must admit I would prefer a black arrangement on my Black Pack.

I'm not saying it's any good, but maybe we should hear from someone who has one, or someone who's at least banged and prodded at one. I had a client on a recent training day with one - looked good (at least on his white car) and seemed sturdy enough.

    Cheers,

    Hi Gordon
I'm researching all the pros and cons of the available bars for the D4 and I see your statement/question. Did you ever get any replies ? or have you had a closer inspection of the LR alloy bar, any comment ?

There are so many varying opinions about all the bars . . . . to me, price is not the initial consideration without being ridiculous, but I also don't want my LRD4 looking like a Prado, Cruiser or Patrol or Kenworth (with due respect to them who luvs those toys)
