The 4 puzzled me as HSE LR4 was on the rear but the window sticker said V6; also there was no stick in the centre console, just a round knob, Evoque style. The terrain response, (I guess that is what it was), appeared to be a horizontal rocker switch about 3" long located where the TR knob was in 2013 The Land Rover name was still on the bonnet however; the OEM wheels were 19" which also surprised me but in a more positive way - something to do with snow tyres I think. 18" is better but ....

When I questioned one of the sales reps, he said the stick had been deleted to provide a purse shelf and the the engine was a 3 litre supercharged petrol unit, same as the new RR Sport. As to a transfer case or not, I guess I was too depressed to investigate further.
The North American LR4 did not receive the updates the EU got in MY12, and Australia got in MY13, from what I saw when I was in NY and SF Oct last year. Yes, there is still low range, and the dial and rocker is how the current MY13 in Australia is set up.

Personally I like the dial as I don't have to engage park, just the handbrake, and turn off.

I also happen to like the way the paddles work, but can see in a purist car such as some of the Jags, a lever would be the traditional way to go.

I gather LR has been testing their charging setup for this eventuality for a few years, according to DISCO4. They changed how the D4 charged in MY12, but didn't work, hence MY13 didn't have it, but the setup in MY13 was sufficiently robust for MY14 to finally have the stop/start.

If it helps reduce emissions, I'm all foR it rather than having to put up with a less powerful engine to bring emissions down.

Just seen the new TDV6 Discovery at Osborne Park. I am impressed at the new look, even better then in the photos. Especially the mirror looks more wind resistant which should be a plus for reduced wind noise?

Just get the dealer to remove Discovery and replace with Land Rover and it will look just fine.

Wonder if they sorted out the high beam in-fill lights to aim lower?
