I would be embarrassed to even claim ownership. Bloody awful. Belongs on the front of a locomotive not a vehicle!!

Well, I guess there is one positive, with the clearance on a bar like that you know it's never been off road. Looks to be in good nick. Spend 3K on a new bar and you might have a reasonable vehicle.

    Where's the bucket...
    Cheers,

You can get the non winch bar and then buy a winch cradle to fit the winch seperately from the bar.

    Tell me more Redback.

How is the winch cradle fitted to the bar? Is it bolted/welded to the bar or is it installed between the chassis rails?

I presume it would all still be air-bag compatible.

I've just had an interesting conversation with the OP distributor in Canberra.
He is interested in developing a fitting system to use the ECB alloy winch bar of the D4 onto my D3.

Too expensive for me but he sounds like a guy willing to go the extra mile to help out.

    Regards

A winch cradle is fitted to the chassis not the bar and sits behind the bar, the fairlead is then fitted to the bar.

If the D4 ECB bar is like the OL & ARB bar, it will be a D3 bar and what they do is fit a plastic or rubber spacer under the head light to fill the gap, my OL bar is like that and if you look closely at that ECB bar on the D4 you will see that fill in under the head light

In theory the D4 bar should fit the D3, unless they have changed something else, also they are much more exspensive than the OL and ARB bars.

Ah yes, because everyone should drive a vehicle that looks like a cross between a bedstead and a cheesegrater.
