    Warranty extension cont

Sorry further to the above, the dealer will arrange the cover, it is factory warranty extended by 2 years or 100,000kms whichever comes first. The cost was $3k as there was a special on at the time, it's usually $4k.

X3 I recently bought a D3 with a new engine. It was one of the deciding factors.

Under the new consumer laws it would have been covered, particularly given the age of your vehicle but it would have been a bit of a fight and a lot of worry.

Yes I thought so too Garry, but would have to go thru all the BS. This was a recent incident so once the warranty period draws out it'll be more and more difficult.

I suppose I now have a dilemma, do I keep my Disco 4 which I love that performs and drives like nothing else but gives problems both large and small. Or do I sell it and buy a 4WD that doesn't do things as well but is more reliable. Can anyone add further to this as I need reasons to keep the Disco, I suppose my hesrt says Disco and head says look for alternatives.

    Confidence

For me its a confidence thing.

Once I have lost confidence in a vehicle its time for a change!

I suppose it is a matter of what you would change to.

Every 4x4 out there has had major failure events.
    Cheers

I agree - though for me it's more SWMBO's confidence than mine. As soon as she decides she has no confidence in a vehicle, she won't drive it. So it's as good as gone at that point.

    Confidence

    Yep agreed.

The confidence thing I am talking about refers to the vehicle I am driving at the time.

Chuck is right though when he mentions the other brands failing. No matter what vehicle you purchase there will always be an element of pot luck albeit small!

As for the SWMBO element I always consider the comments made by a higher authority!
