Wife's car has it and I'm always turning it off, there should be a permanent override for that function.

About the off centre, used it on the weekend and didn't pick it up well done Nat. I did get quickly annoyed with reaching forward many times to play with modes, I much preferred the dial on the rangie.

I wonder if there's a voice command for it to avoid the stretch? Must check that when I get time...
Had an Audi Q3 as a loaner for a couple of weeks with this function.

It drove me mad, so I dug deep into the menus & found it...

So somewhere, buried in sub-menu 87, it should be there. Best of British luck finding it thou...

Cheers Basil, hers is a Merc C200, couldn't find it in car menus so one day will have a look in the manual, or maybe the Merc forum?

E diff locked on the weekend!

On the weekend I was doing a 'reccie' of a rural property for 'ecological' purposes and decided to play with the TR.

So when in Low range on a slightly uphill track with some mud ruts, I selected MR mode and put the 4WD DISPLAY up onscreen, and bugger me after about 5m movement the rear diff padlock flashed and then stayed red. Only for about 20m then it went back to green.

From my small amount of research, this diff can only be locked automatically when TR program thinks it's needed. Interestingly the centre diff remained unlocked.

Next time I will try to get a photo.

    .

Yeah your dead spot on these cars are super smart do all their diff locking centre and rear automatically and from what i can gather there is a 3 stage locking on each of the lockers, Syneigy might be able to elaborate more.

But its very smart saves leaving it locked when not needed they are truly intelligent cars!!

Have a look in the FAQ section, I explained how all the diffs & settings work in each of the TR settings.
    Cheers
