Batwing awning on their D3/4

My friend with the Foxwing has had no dramas since that one incident(first proper set up) he uses a better quality guy rope now and also makes sure it is tied down properly, he was the reason I got interested in the Batwing awning in the first place, I'd never seen one before, the main reason we chose the Rapid-Wing was it was canvas, there are so many out there now and it wasn't until I started searching, that I realised how many there were

It was the light weight design that turned me away , I decided to get the Hannibal awning , no poles and no ropes, led lights in the stays and you can move your car with it up so its down wind. Mind you I have had it up in some fierce wind no drama . Packs up and sets up by myself under 1 min even in the wind. I love it
Smaller than the others but you can fit walls that come out on the angle so the footprint is quite large. I've had 4 single swags under mine .

Hannibal make a batwing awning

and this thread is not about a normal awning, this is about finding info on a batwing awning to fit the D4, as it has an upward opening door, which I have now solved.

Aside from that we also have a Bob Burrage side awning, it's 2.5m x 5.0m, made in Australia as well as the Rapid-Wing by Supa-Peg, nothing lightweight about either awning.

I've seen the Hannibal awning, it's small, especially the rear awning, $900 for a 1.3m x 1.4m awning

and I didn't see anything special about it when comparing it to other awnings of it's type.

Yes the free standing is a good idea, and yes they are well built, but with that you lose area for weight and bulk and IMO way over priced.

4 single swags under 2.0m x 2.4m awning, must have been good friends

Our double swag 1400mm x 1100mm under our 2.4m x 5.0m awning

WOW Baz sorry I spoke It was only my opinion and if you call my wife and two kids good friends you would be right. If you also read the bit about the walls coming out on angle the area on the ground is quite large. not sure why you have so many awnings or you just trying to get it right???

The water does tend to pond a bit in one corner or the other ( outside cnr,s) but just spills off . If the walls are on as they fit just inside of the edges the water then runs down the outside of the walls.

Sorry If it sounded like I was having a go, cause I wasn't and yes you are entitled to your opinion, my point was, it isn't about who's awning is better, it's about trying to get info on whether a Batwing awning would fit the D4.

We have no trouble with our side awning, we have had this awning on 3 vehicles, it is 10yrs old and we have only had the bag replaced in that time, the design is similar to the Batwing awning, in that there is no pooling of water, and a major reason we chose both awnings, nearly 3yrs went into deciding which Batwing awning to get, unfortunately Hannibal don't make a Batwing awning.

But you did open the door to an opinion on your comment of our awning
