    I have a MY11 D4 SE.
    Both my original and the replacement turbos were good initially but later allowed oil to accumulate in the inlet tract, probably as the bearings lost their initial tightness and could no longer contain the oil that didn't drain away quickly enough.

    The revised drain kit cost me $154 last August (perhaps discounted) so cheap enough as a precaution except that I have no feel for the cost to fit it. It only guarantees that oil cannot pool in the drain and that an ineffective scavenger pump cannot interfere with the ability of the oil to drain.

    SWMBO RRS is going in next week 2013 car SDV6 20000k starting to blow smoke on start up. And no modified drain was not fitted when car was supplified. Typical poor effort on LR part.

    I'm not expecting to many turbo problems with the D4 I just purchased ....

    Hey Terry, how about we stick a couple on to give it some torque?

    What does anyone make of this?

    My MY14 SDV6 has just done 5000km too and just checked oil level today- it's 2 "notches" from the top of the "gauge". Haven't topped it up but I guess that could easily be 400mls. I was a little surprised as well. David

    My MY13 SDV6 dropped a couple of notches or more by 5000 but doesn't seemed to have used any since. It's only done 9000 but by the original measure it should have dropped another couple.


    Eyes open I suppose.
