From Roo Systems website the warranty explains their side of what it could mean to possess all that power and torque.

    See Roo Systems Warranty page

I would only suggest that the brave venture forth as I would not want to be 500 odd kilometres from the nearest LR service centre when I need to discuss the matter of what has gone wrong with a stressed engine.

Maybe the Roo Systems exhaust system would be enough for most users? Just my two bobs worth...

The thing that concerns me after reading that is, nowhere do Roo Systems state that THEY have any kind of warranty against the failure of a component that is caused by the additional load placed upon it by their products.

It should be stated that I am not a current or potential future customer of theirs.

While not against a few extra neddies at any time I can't imagine turning a 100k Disco into a loud vibrating heap of poo for the sake of a few more horses.

Unless you could hear and drive a Disco with the exhaust mod I reckon you won't know if you can handle the noise / drone and resulting vibes you usually get from a louder exhaust until after you have shelled out the bucks and then it's to late. Though you would know for sure if you like it or not after an hour driving down the freeway with the thing droning away.
    Cheers,
    Terry

Engine one thing, but there are so many drive and transmission parts that could be damaged too ... then there's the brakes .... then there's the tyres ... then there's the suspension .....

Then there's the insurance problems ....

Dunno ... but it reminds me of a Top Gear episode where the outcome was "well done boys, you've made a fabulous car un-driveable, do you know how much money MB spend on R&D and yet you think you can do better"

It's interesting that they show the Brand Logos at the end of the tape .... have they been endorsed by these OEMs? I very much doubt it.

Yes I noticed that was missing as well, it's one thing for them to say the onus is on the manufacturer, not the owner, but how many owners would be prepared or have the knowledge to take a manufacturer on if it did **** itself.

I wonder if Mr Roo Systems would fund the legal challenge to a manufacturer if a customers car had a warranty made void by their modification?....I doubt it

If you mod your vehicle to produce more power then why should a manufacturer be responsible if something breaks?

If I modded mine for extra power and it **** itself then I would accept that it was my decision to do so which makes it my responsibility.

Ummm guys, the 1000+Nm claim is complete bull****.

Someone got the gear ratio calculation wrong on their dyno and it spat out an inflated torque figure. Hence my earlier statement about doing it in low range and getting an even higher number.

If the engine is producing around the claimed 180kw then the torque will be pretty close to the 600Nm of the factory 180kw SDV6.
