Good idea. Leave it till after Xmas. There's not a lot of reasonable price D3s. I would go for an my 08 or 09 with more km than an older D3.

What I am also noticing is private sellers using the same identical script which describes the standard features. Yes I know it comes with "Airbags for my Protection"....

I'm going to drop and offer on the last one I drove "if" the guy calls me back.
The few that are ex East, I might tell them to call me in the new year unless they are prepared to get realistic with their pricing.
Just got told today to buy a D2 as better off road anyway.....

I hear what you are saying about the later models but not sure if the budget will stretch...

D2 better off road, I don't think so, the D3 is far superior off road.

    Baz.

Must be a stock standard script that carsales has put together. It's boringly generic and irritatingly repetitive. It's the same for so many cars on there.
This car has a powerful x.x litre engine. (regardless of power output)
This car has 8 airbags for your protection.
    This car has active suspension.
    This car has leather upholstery.
This car has comfortable seating for 7 people (laughed when I read that for the new RRS... Two of the 7 would have to be pre-teen midgets, and you'd still have to shoe-horn them in!)
This car represents great value at $295,000.

You can imagine what the guy who wrote that script would be like at a dinner party...

I spend too much time on carsales.

Try for a later model if you can, even one with higher km. 2008/2009 MYs are well refined with nearly everything is well sorted on them. Oil pump is still an issue however.

Once I decided I wanted an RRS I test drove about 8 of them all up, mostly 2005/2006, 1 2007 and 1 2008. The 2008 had 150K (double the km of some of them) but drove better than all the others, was noticeable immediately to me, so that's the one I picked up. Interior is better too. I won't say it hasn't been trouble free - the alternator died and the transmission makes some wierd noises that I believe to be the torque converter (lack of trans service - didn't know about that until I bought it) but other than that it has proven to be an excellent and very solid vehicle with an extraordinary array of talents.
