Hi Doug, that water bottle just lives in there permanently, I just have a tap on it and lift it out if I need to use it, only 10 ltrs but good for emergency drink, wash hands etc. When I travel another 50 ltrs gets squashed in in a couple of jerrys. I have a 65 ltr water bladder that I want to squash in somewhere, it was out of my old amarok ute.
The beauty of the Drifta stuff is, its light and removable. I seem to fit more in the back of this car than my old Amarok with a canopy on it which had permanent drawers in it.

I tow a trailer, but I bought some 10 litre water containers with water in them, from Coles. They have a tap, and worked a treat. They stack well too. Their cost was I think $5 each??? For the cost of a water container, I reckon they make more sense. Since I've found in the past that water valves let go after a couple of years.

I have also cheated on my fridge - I put it next to the passenger door. You reach in, lift the lid, and its a bit inside from the car door, because if its next to the door, the lid hits the roof too early. Push it into the middle a little, and the lid swings open, and touches the roof - which holds the lid open. I tied the fridge down to the Disco's retainer bars ...

This leaves the rear free for other stuff. The rear looks empty actually (but I have a trailer).

Depending on your passengers, and your lid height, I think this place is better than the rear!!! But not nearly as cool as a roll out ...

I'm going to do a cage around the fridge similar to above, but made from 25mm square Ali section, with carpeted ply panels top and sides. The eBay cage above doesn't work for my fridge slide.
Any ideas for how to mount this "frame" to the false floor. This frame needs to be removable, as it will have to come out first before the full width false floor can be removed (diagonally).

Hi Jim,

Not sure of the setup of your floor but I put nutserts / tnuts from underneath my platform which is what the screws holding the slide are fixed into. Like these: 10pcs M6 Internal Thread T Nuts TEE Blind Steel 4 Prong DIY | eBay

They give you a nice thread to screw into rather than screwing into and out of the timber repeatedly which I guess will eventually not bite very well. I used a speedbore to rebate them slightly and drilled the hole so they're pretty snug.

This is my draw made by Drifta , size is (1000 X 450 X 300HIGH) which fits right up against the back seat, but still allows you to tuck some gear behind that seat, tarps, tool kit etc

I installed an inverter on the side with power coming form the 2nd battery and if I want to pull out the draw I just disconnect the anderson plug that connects it.

Socket just protruding so I can remove spare, I have a long extension and ratchet in the drawer.

I stash heaps of stuff down the side of the drawer as well.

Inside my drawer, 10 ltrs water, recovery kit, puncture repair, BBQ, full Bahco set, various sprays, bits and pieces, basically the essentials.

Flick the tab at the back of the drawer and the whole inner drawer pulls out.
