I had 158a,the rhs duplex. At the time there was no house on the lhs,we were the last house until Yanchep in those days.Just before we left town we had LOTS of issuses with the bitch building the house on the rhs,its why we left. The castle next one along on the right was owned by Old man Spiers,I doubt he is still around.Hell of an old party dood back then, saw may New Years Eve parties there.
Back behind us was one of Perths big barristers, great mates with old man Spiers. We had plenty of golden retrievers between us at the time,we were going to get them removed by the Wanneroo shire at the time for having too many. All of a sudden Spiers owend a few of them and the barrister up the back was our free lawyer.
Lots of highjinks went on with the building of that house

Its not so far to wander to the beach now. With the erosion at a rate of about 1 metre a year on average. Maybe the millions spent on groins and sandbags and replenishment will slow it down. The park next to the old boatramp (pre Mindarie Quays) fell into the ocean casuarina trees BBQs the lot, a few years ago.

The new boots are on, have only completed 200km this week, as the car needed a service and ended up having a sleepover ... ( that's another story - but all good now )

They felt "different" at first, you could tell you had more rubber squishing around
underneath, but getting used to the feeling, no extra noise that I can notice so far, but I did put the roof racks and big basket on at the weekend so it's hard to tell anyway as they make a little noise.

Off camping tomorrow down to Fonty"s Pool, I hope I can escape on the Saturday for some dune, hills, karri and beach fun, but the fun police are watching me like a hawk and are making bold statements that I should hang around the camp and be social ( 4 x other family's going - no real 4WD"s amongst them to go and play with ) might try UPCOMING EVENT POST, see if anyone us wandering around the area on Saturday....

Give some more feedback after the long weekend,

    Jack

I took mine for a PO run today and they didn't feel or sound any different to the half-worn 265/65-17 Conti ATs. The sidewalls look strangely short but the tread is wide and the pattern should be good for my use. I'll only leave them on until I get some idea of how they perform as I need to finish wearing-out the Contis.

Just to be clear, you guys are talking about Hankook 19s, right? If so I'm all ears to hear your ongoing opinions.

Yes, the Hankook RF10 in 19". I needed roadworthy tyres on my stored 19" rims and thought I'd evaluate these for possible fitment to 19" rims on a future RRV. My brother is putting a set on 19" rims on his 3.6 RRS in place of existing 275/40-20s for everyday use and some outback touring too, although at my suggestion of a possible suitable tyre. I intend refitting them when the Contis wear out if I still have the D4 that long, with the Duratracs doing more severe service.

Thanks, Graeme. In an ideal world I'd have the Duratracs for trips away but I am limited to one set only, storage and budget. All I'm hoping for is puncture resistance on bad roads, really.

I'll be doing 100 kph on the local gravel roads as I've always done. However these roads have nothing on some of the sharp rocks I've previously encountered in the outback.

Following this thread with interest also convinced me to purchase a set of Hankook 19 inch RF10's. Fitted by Bob Jane Osborne Park yesterday at $325 a tyre, well chuffed. They look good and I don't notice any undue road noise above the previous Wranglers. Will test them out on the beach on Monday. They will be get their proper offroad test when we go upto Karijini at Easter.

    Cheers,

    Colin
