I gave mine a 300km run today and found them good on both dry bitumen and at speed on loose gravel where they tracked well and didn't throw stones under the guards.

Edit: Judging by slight scuffing on the thicker upper sidewalls of 2 tyres it appears that they found a few rocks to rub against on the drive around the tracks on Galore Hill reserve near Lockhart. The thicker section more than covers the ground side of the sidewall bulge.

Hi Colin, If you changed out the spare, did you give Bob Jane The Talk, about taking care with the spare tyre winch and not using the rattle gun on it and ensuring there was load etc or were they well versed in handling D3s and D4s being close to Barbgallos?

Hi James. No I didn't, but my conscience obviously got the better of me when I got home and checked that the winch operated smoothly, which it did. The winch happened to be replaced last year under warranty after jamming without the use of.a rattle gun! This was my first dealing with BJ and I was more than happy with the service and would not hesitate using them again.

Completed about 1000km this weekend camping, with a trailer, fully loaded car and roof racks, went 4WD around the Yeagarup Dunes, with tyre pressures around 12 - 13 PSI, very happy with my the 19 inch Hankooks RF10, were quiet
and were fine at highway speeds, went up the dunes with no issues, 3x other Toyota's didn't get up ... I met a D3 at the top, they did a big Toyota Jump as we powered up the hill, much to the disgust of the Toyota's at the bottom of the hill.

As long as they don't turn into General Grabbers when worn ( sound like a wheel bearing going ) and go ok in the wet and last at least 50,000, I will be happy,

That's rather low for 19". What prompted that pressure?

We have been in that National Park several times, as you enter, the rangers have requested each time that we let the tires down that low, also big signs everywhere telling the same, I have never had any trouble getting stuck, but have seen plenty of others not so lucky.

I'm putting it down to the low pressures, saying that I been told Land Rover rims hang onto to their tyre's really well at low pressures better than others, but just the same, not too fast and slow movements with tiller!

Not sure if WA SAND is different to the rest of Oz, but it's really soft, deep and powdery in places!

I wouldn't want to drive on anything solid with pressures that low - one slight bump and I suspect that would be the end of the sidewall.

They are not too bad considering, the larger " mother " version is very expensive
