Thread: D4 Rubbing Strip

Can't answer your question about the part numbers but I have a pretty strict routine at shopping centers.

First, my wife drives the old car (sorry but she's a touch parker- always has been- always will be)

I never park "down" the hill.

I never park anywhere near the trolley bay

I try to wait in the car if possible while others go and get whatever we are there for

If I cant get a spot I'm happy with, I try to park next to cars that are expensive and look well kept

I have been known to "abort" the mission if none of the above are satisfied

I put it in off road height plus Llams +50mm

As a defence against shopping trolleys/car doors etc,has any one fitted part VPLAP0013, which I believe is the door strip for a D3,to a D4.They look the same to me, but have been told by one supplier they will not fit....where as another says they will?

I've installed VPLAP0012 on my D4 - which is the same thing as VPLAP0013 - without the "bling"!

hi, here is a photo of mine with the Genuine Rubber strips (special Chrome edition) fitted by my local LR Dealer, not one dent on my car yet !

I have the rubber strips fitted and based upon some of the marks I have seen on them, I am sure they have saved a few minor issues.

Take careful note of lpj's comments about where you park!

Have prescribed to that style of parking myself but there is always the the potential for the weird and wonderful at a shopping centre.

I have been the victim of a driver reversing, whilst yelling at their kids in their car, missing a number of other parked vehicles crossing the entirety of the carpark then hitting my D4 fair in the middle of the bull bar!

What a feat of demonstrated reversing skill!

Anyhow a new paint job on the roo bar thanks to the insurance company plus a new front number plate and all is good again!

I get them fitted to all vehicles i have,expensive from LR,but a necessity.

The one's i had fitted to one of the D2s i had pealed off,took them about three goes to get them to stick on properly

None available for the work Hi Ace,consequently it has dings all along the side
