Thread: Air suspension air filter

I swapped the filter with my mechanic, I recall it was accessed both from the P/S rear light bay and also inside.
Prongs that hold the filter in place are behind the light once depressed the filter can be removed via the inside access, swapped over and replaced the same way.

Removing the rear tail light and a vent behind the light gave no access to where the filter is

The filter may clip in,and come out once you know how it fits in,from inside the vehicle,I didn't want to giggle,and wiggle it too much as i could damage it or the clips that hold it in.

It is very very awkward to even reach let alone remove,due to the rear A/C components.

Umm,just reread your post,rear light bay,is that inside light,not tail light?

No behind the tail light. I'll take a photo tomorrow of it.
Oh that's right it's behind the plastic vent!
Pop that out first.

i poped out the vent,still no access as far as i could see.

Maybe i need new glasses……...

Here you go, with the tail light and vent removed this is what you see.

You will see the actual vent / filter where my finger is pointing behind the steel structure.

In this photo I'm pointing at the prong you have to squeeze and push back through to enable sliding the vent / filter out through the side access in the rear of the car.

Has anyone put a cheaper after market filter in?

Thanks,was gonna have a go today but work took over.
Will give it a go on the weekend,looks easy once you know.

Just to clarify is this on the D4 only or the D3 as well?
