Cracked Turbo Hose- 2 weeks out of warranty- Allianz knock back

Well my original factory warranty ran out two weeks ago. I have had a few things replaced under warranty, but now I'm told I have a cracked turbo hose, which was causing intermittent "restricted performance" limp mode. It happened once Sunday after sitting in the garage idle all Saturday and then again this morning while pulling up a steep-ish hill near home. On both occasions the fault went away after restarting.
Dealer was kind enough to look at it straight away and diagnosed the issue. "$170.00 please" as it's not covered under extended warranty!!
Given that its 2 weeks out and I've paid the best part of 3K for the Allianz ridgy didge extended factory warranty, I have asked them to go back and have another try please.
    Let's see what happens

Which product did you buy, as in which policy? ... there are several and all come with different levels of cover.

    I'd still challenge though :-)

Sorry, but I've found most extended warranties aren't worth the paper they're written on...

Sooo these warranties cover high stress and relatively short lifespan items like intercooler hoses? I'd be surprised personally if it is part of the list of covered items. How old is it? (The pipe)
The Isuzu 110. Solid and as dependable as a rock, coming soon with auto box😊
The Range Rover L322 4.4.TTDV8 ....probably won't bother with the remap..😈

I paid for an Allianz Extended Warranty for my first D4 .... I guess about 3 years ago.

That policy, was as good as the LR original. Paid for itself in the first issue I had.... but you need to do your homework with regards to what is being covered..... and that policy was not cheap.

Even LR's Extended Warranty (which BTW is an Allianz product .... or was then) is not as good as the coverage of Allianz and other company's (?) top of the range products. But they (LR) make about a grand above the asking price.

Both LR's Extended Warranty and other similar products will only cover major failures and I'm not sure how that gets calculated .... But definitely no cosmetics like a broken internal fitting, etc.

But to be fair .... wear and tear issues are never going to be covered .... hoses, tyres, belts, etc., .... unless they have failed well inside the OEM specification.

My Original LR Warranty issues have been a mixed bag too depending on the guys your are dealing with ..... which doesn't fill me with joy. I understand that they must get lots of people assuming that regardless they must be covered but I have been pretty peeved having to argue the point on faults that are obviously defective and really don't cost that much ... especially to the OEM.

My extended LR warranty has been worth it...paid for its self and some. Supported by LR service...put anything related to warranty straight through.

    Interesting anomaly ....

Even when I bought the non-LR (branded) Allianz extended Warranty, everything was taken care of by LR, they got pre-approved authority before they called me. The LR guys were great in this area of support.

Maybe not so strange when the collector is the same ....

I reckon it's all in the approach

I have the LR extended warranty and so far it has worked for me on the one or two small issues I have had.

From my chat with my local LR service agent it seems that a lot depends on the information they provide to the insurer and how hard they go to bat for their customer!
