I questioned why at such low km these things would need replacing and after some back and forth was told I could probably leave it another 6 months.

So today when I dropped it off, I was expecting the call to say I needed new pads front and rear plus rotors.

To my surprise I did get the call, but to say I only needed rear pads (yes rear) and everything else was fine!

Now I'm not sure if I'm really happy, really ticked off, or really worried?!

My last dealer service they told me the same thing. Car had around 22000k on the clock. I queried if this was unusual brake wear, but they said it was about average. I then asked how many more k's I could expect to get out of the brakes, and they said 5000 max. They also said the car had a sensor and would warn me when the brakes needed to be changed, so I said great, let's wait for that to happen. 8000k's later, still no brake warning ...

My brake wear indicator came on at just on 100,000 and that was the rear. That is with predominately country driving so imagine city driving will be half that.
I changed discs and pads all round and at the same time changed the lower front arms due bushes worn. While I was in there I did the roll bar bushes as well.
After a full alignment it is like a new car again.
