I have the Brown Davis, it is a pump transfer into the filler neck of the main tank. Have not had an issue with the transfer system and have changed the inline filter before.
Sadly by the time you notice.........

If you hole the main tank. Well Rich Is right. Point I was trying to make before. You are cactus.
Really does not matter if you have gravity or electric feed.
Ok adnittedly if gravity feed you may not notice and therefore run out of fuel, but honestly if you keep an eye on the gauge and know your fuel usage you will know.
Either way unless you can patch the main you are in deep trouble.
Not a reason to choose one over the other. It would generally need to be extreme off road conditions to put a hole in either tank. Touting you even over some of the roughest roads would be very unlikely to do so.

Yesterday drove from home up the Great Western Highway to Mt Victoria across the Darling Causeway and down Bells Line of Road back home. Stayed on the bitumen.
Fantastic, the power and comfort is a step up from the D3. Enlightening. However the D4 seems to have more body roll than the D3, this may be because I have been driving a Corolla in the interim or because once I got LLAMS on the 3 I used the -20mm setting for trips like this.
Only bad point was realising while eating lunch at Mt Victoria, that this is the first time in 18 years that I have been up in the Blue Mountains alone.

But to get back to the subject of the thread, today I ordered through Opposite Lock South Sydney:
    Bull bar
    Rear wheel carrier
    Snorkel
    Long range tank (gravity feed)
APT sliders with checker plate steps
Fitting of cargo barrier (obtaining from Jon3950)

I have decide to order LLAMS and will get in touch with Graeme shortly.
Tonight will get the D4 unlock for the Nanocom.

I am still undecided about the dual battery setup. Leaning towards a Traxide unit over a DC DC charger, but need to do more research.

So things purchased (including Nanocom unlock) is around $8K, that includes fitting.
    Cheers
    Mike
