I have just ordered the Laser bush tools for front and rear bushes on the front arms. I also have the bushes coming as well.
I will be fitting them to both the front arms I changed several months ago.

I was told that the bushes can only be replaced a max of 3 times and a marking is put on the bush when fitted to show how many times it has been replaced. I was also told replacing the entire arm was better than replacing just the bushes.

From my limited research it would seem that the popular belief is to change the arms because the bushes are such a pain to get out. With this tool it looks fairly easy. As Tombie has said the press has other uses. I intend to get a D4 next so even a few changes it has paid for itself. I am happy to help others out when I get it for a few beers as well.

I now have in my hand the tools for removing and fitting the front arm bushes.
Anybody who wish to use them are welcome for the usual payment.

is this the same tool? Do you have a photo of your tool? (That could be interpreted badly)I am keen to see what else is out there before ordering.

    Carl,
I have an aircraft to fix in Cairns so will get back to you with a pic later this week.
They are Laser Tools 6180 and 6355 and are substantial and excellent quality, certainly on par with Kelstrom tooling, better still made in Sheffield UK. I believe they make the OE tools for LR.
    Cheers, Graeme

Totally different Carl, screw based, not frame and jig...
No hydraulic components so required more work on the removal...

    Notably cheaper to purchase.

Would require more effort than the SP tool

No need for a photo, I found them on Google. This is the same bit of kit in the workshop manual.
