Oh and the recirculate air button pee's me right off, it never comes back on when starting vehicle.

Holding the button down while on latches it on but that's not good enough

What I love about my new D4 and what I hate.
Feel free to join in
Pros
• it's smooth it's quiet
• I can't hear the wipers when they're on (ex Defender driver) ha ha ha
• the leather BDSM
• the power
• the comfort
• the shape
• the air bags
More to come, I'm still getting used to it.
Cons
• spare wheel access
• 19" wheels (poor tyre choices available)
• tow hitch
• fuel tank capacity

Having bought my first LR earlier this year I would agree with all your comments.
The timed recirculate button is stupid.
Fuel tank capacity is frustrating. Not getting the try 80 odd litres is annoying, but if it was around 100 - 120 true litres would be much better.
Lots to like thou.

Why would you ever want recirculated stale air? Every time I get in a car with the air con on recirculate I turn it off! That's one of the great things about the D4. It cools in the hottest conditions using fresh air and dust is not a problem.

For fresh air I just open the window a little every hour or so.
Have never all these years with my new cars ever run fresh cycle, dust still gets past the filters, your air vents then fill with dust.
Then there is odours, heaps of fertilising around my area and there is some factories or maybe it's a tip that has an excruciating smell coming from it when you drive on the M7, if that gets in the fresh it seems like it never leaves your air con system
I hate when I get in a rental or loan vehicle and you turn on the vehicle and the air has been left on full or you turn it on yourself and you get a face full of dust.
Out of curiosity how often do people change the filter for the fresh air inlet ❓

My 2010 model D4 2.7 does exactly what the advertising material on the box promised. It can be luxury one day and packed full on kit, in the mud, at the weekend.
The load carrying capacity / variations, especially in combination with a roof rack, is extraordinary. Countless times i've seen the surprise on warehouse staff faces as the household item purchased fits in without fuse. I've often thought they get some amusement from people struggling to self load the furniture.
I've also enjoyed the numerous conversations and demonstrations with curious onlookers when they look at it through land cruiser / patrol glasses. They seem genuinely shocked and at times perhaps a little bit annoyed. I do try not to be too smug about it and let the stats / data talk of themselves.
I don't have any cons, because so far this car hasn't let me down. The mods I have and the maintenance done are part of the journey we've all enjoyed with it.
The only time I use recirculate is if about to pass through a dust or smoke plume across the road. Once or twice I've forgotten to turn it off so the auto-off did the job. I always have the fan running as fast as I can tolerate the noise on unsealed roads to ensure positive cabin pressure.

Only 2 cons I could think of, prefer the old style of spare on the back of full opening rear gate. The split gate makes it difficult to reach in all the way. Have practised dropping the spare a few times and now carry a small block of wood to support it when on the deck so I can put my hand under to unhook or rehook the cable. The other is Im not game to park it down the shops as it looks so good some ahole will scratch it!
Not going off road (towing a caravan) so the small tank means less weight and the hitch/receiver can be completely removed when not in use. The manual actually recommends to do that.
