    Inside Diameter of GOE Wheels

    Hi Gents,

Anybody by chance know what the inside diameter of the GOE 18" wheels are?

I've got the D4 HSE with the 360mm front discs. Trying to see what our options are as fast as wheels go. I know at the moment it seems like only the Compomotive wheels will fit.

I have read some past post where people have shaved the caliper to fit 18"s. Not keen at all on that route.

I have access to CNC lathe and was thinking if it was a case of <5mm I could turn the inside diameter down to suit. Dependant on wheel thickness though to keep it safe.

Anyone have any experience with this?

    Thanks all.

    Answered your own question...

Machining the ID of the wheel will render it weak..

The Compomotives are contoured so there is not a single diameter. I would not shave either the caliper nor the wheel.

There are a few engineering types on here. I think if it could be done it would have happened by now. However, I measure the space required for the calliper is 440mm. You also need space for balancing weights.

The GOE rim look to clear the calliper by 8-10mm on my RRV.

Easy way to check clearances is to place a strip of plasticine across the rim (or what ever you are trying to get a clearance) and if you are worried about contamination wrap some cling film on the interfering parts and give it a spin. Using something like a craft knife clear away a line of plasticine and you will have a good indication of how much clearance you have.
