    Cool The final "Touch".

Well, today whilst the car was having its first service, and a pre-trip inspection, to be ready for Melrose, she also had new wheels and boots fitted.
I ended up going with 20" rims with the Nitto Terra Grappler tires.
I have to say, I think ultimately, she "Looks the goods",,, haha, now to get my driving skills up to par.

So pretty much, she's just about finished from my perspective. There's probably a couple of other little things I could do to get her ready for touring, there is still the rear light pole to go on,,, just waiting for its arrival. I'd also like to swap out the crappy fog lights supplied with the front bar with the original fog lights, and possibly add a set of Fyrlyt spotties. The last job which will get done will be removing the third row seats to replace with some storage and a stainless drinking water tank.

I used to think I loved the Defender,,,

The Discovery just eases along with absolutely no effort, is sooooo comfy, and IMO, does everything just so much better. Luxury that's capable of doing what seems to be "everything",,,, you gotta' love that

They aren't quite as flash as Mr Shiny Heads rims, but the 20" black rims do look good on a skateboard.
Mr Shiny Head keeps telling me his 20" wheels will look much better on my D4 and he is happy to swap, must think I'm a better skateboard rider!!!!

Hi Scott, they're Advanti's, I can't remember what sub name they give them, that will have to wait until I've found the receipt, hiding somewhere in the car which is full of stuff at the moment.

Since the the wheel alignment has been done, wow,, she sits on the road so much better. Was a fair way out apparently, which is supposed to be normal as everything beds in. Now, she's as tight as a drum, and just hugs the road very nicely.
Because both the wheels and alignment were done at the same time, I'm not in a position to say which is more beneficial, but I would think its the WA, not the tires.

Looking forward to to getting into the bush to see how they perform.

Just went for a cruise up the road with Chops. What a beutiful vehicle. We drove around a few of the tracks beside the river. Chops demonstrated the hill descent and the diff locks. He drove around at off road height. It is a very capable and comfortable vehicle.
We had a Latte and I drove it back to camp.

Hey, I could see myself driving one of them.
