    D3 suspension fault

My 2007 Disco has a suspension error and only normal height is available.

Ive done some research and come to the conclusion that it could either be the Silica Gel Beads and/or the teflon exhaust plug.

I dont think its a over heating problem and the valve blocks have already been changed.

Whats im asking does anyone have a diagnostic tool they are willing to plug in and pull any error codes its producing to confirm my research. (Campbellfield/Port Melbourne)

Melbourne Land Rover quote about $1850 for a new AMK or $185p/h to run diagnostics
    ULR quote $2000
Ritter quote $2000 for a new AMK

    Any help much appreciated

Can't help with the diagnostics (location D3 suspension fault)..

Look over to the UK for compressors at a better price!

    Hi,

I've just bought a new compressor OEM for my RR in the UK. About $560 but that includes the 20% VAT/GST so with postage you can expect the same price.

Under $1000 no duty but you will be up for GST @ 10%.

Not too hard to install either but you will probably need re-calibration afterwards.

On the RR AMK = a software update, no sure about the D3. I bought the Dunlop OEM as it does not require an update as I cant get it where I live.

    Cheers

    Jerry

No GST either if parts value under $1000.

When does the fault message occur? If 2-5 minutes after starting then virtually guaranteed to be due to reservoir pressure rising too slowly.

its within the first 2 mins. so yeah, so far its pointing towards not building pressure quick enough which could be due to the Silica beads.

going to order some more silica today from www.silicagel.com.au .

Is it worth replacing the filter pads as well? and maybe doing a full rebuild?

    Thanks for your help

I can get a new Dunlop compressor for $530AUD delivered which is very tempting.

Im guessing the Dunlop compressor fits into the existing Hitachi mounts and wiring?

I wouldn't scrimp on quality, buy the genuine AMK.

Nothing worth having to replace it again in 12mths if you buy an inferior product.

Rich, do you have any evidence to say that the Dunlop compressor is of poor quality?
