    Not currently, but it's possible. It's still very usable where it is, but if making the choice again I would probably go for one with a speaker in the mic head.

    I don't know about other brands, but the speaker in the handpiece of the Uniden radio is definitely not its best feature. Pretty crappy sounding really, and you have to have the volume turned up reasonably high (which attracts the ire of SWMBO) to hear things clearly.

    I've been planning to put in another extension speaker somewhere. In the D2 with a GME radio, I had an extension speaker mounted on the "B" pillar, just behind my right ear. I think there might be an airbag or something there in the D4, so I'll have to plan it a bit more carefully.
