Thread: Fitting a reversing camera - tapping into reverse light ciruit

Fitting a wifi reversing camera to a MY11 D4. I need to tap into the reverse light circuit to use as a trigger signal to turn on the wifi module & camera when reverse is selected.

What colour is the reverse light wire at the rear drivers side light housing?

red
black
green / white
green / brown
red / yellow
green / purple

Is there a better place to tap into the reverse light circuit than at the rear light assembly?

Trailer socket loom would be another option. Don't have to do the splice behind the light. Can access trailer loom behind the bumper. Not sure if that makes much difference.
