The white wanabee ones are ok,easily fought off.its the 6 foot tall and 8 feet wide ones singing the hakha that really scare me.

I've always (since the 80s) used a dab of high quality Mobile aviation grease on mag wheels and have never had an issue.

My first D4's OEMs were hard to get off so I used the same principle on them and the wheel studs. Never a problem.

I've seen a BMW X5 need a lot of 'encouragement' to let go of one of it's wheels.

Does anyone paint their nuts to match (or otherwise) their GOE rims? If so,what prep. and what product?

Mine were bought secondhand.I have the oem nuts, which I'm happy with. The wheels came with black oem centres available from your dealer or fleabay. They look much better than the standard silver centre.
I would paint them to match or buy the black ones.
Many parts suppliers like Supercheap can mix pain in spray cans to match any colour.GOE should be able to give you a paint code.

You can get sets of silicon lug nut covers on eBay in a size to fit the LR4. Plenty of colours to choose from including black but most are bright. That might be an alternative to painting them
