The only bit that interested me was the stolen vehicle tracking... but I only have a Freelander 2 so it's not likely to be doable on mine anyway.
Does anyone know if this functionality will be able to be retro-fitted or done in a software update for the D4, or is it only a feature available on the most recent Land Rovers.
Would be nice to have I think. Any future possibility for the rest of us with the current technology pack?

If your car is a MY in which Inontrol apps was offered as an option then you might be able to enble it. There is a bit to do though. You might find this thread interesting:

My D4 is a MY16 although I got it last year in August and around then the InControl app was just being talked about so I asked the dealer and he found out that it wasn't upgradable and had to be factory ordered. Things may have changed since then though.

Mine came with it.
Waste of time, I don't use it.
As someone who has it, I would not recommend it.
It already seems to be about 5 years out of date.

Apple CarPlay & Android Auto must be the way to go, hopefully LR get on-board. Their logo is on the CarPlay website at least.
But presumably it will never be backwards compatible.
