One of the drawbacks of owning a Discovery is the Jerry can gets filled with diesel. Bought a silver one because it was cheap!

    ULP in tank

I lived in a very cold country for 12 months and due to diesel gelling in the extreme cold and difficulty starting, we thought nothing of mixing 10 litres of "gas" into the tank. Never ever had any problems although I wouldn't go much more the 10 litres to a full tank of diesel!

Now live in CBR and during winter trips up to the snowies, I mix either 4 litres of kerosene into every full tank or 5-10 litres of ULP to stop the fuel waxing. Again with no issues whatsoever.

I think from the many examples of people putting in limited amounts of ULP before realising their mistake, we are all a little risk adverse. If it's under 10 litres - just dilute the ULP with a full tank of diesel and carry on. Any more then yes I'm fully for draining the tank!!

A guy at work did this last week. He filled up his Patrol with dual tanks with petrol because he wasn't at his usual servo and the pump handle was black. Unfortunately he drove home.

I did exactly that with the D2,the pump handle was black, not the usual servo.

Luckily,SWMBO went into pay,and she says, the diesel. The attendant says no diesel at that bowser.

Pushed it out the way and had it tilt trayed to the mechanic.
