Leather care products from the likes of Bowdens etc.
And a mechanics cover for those "dirtier than usual" moments.
Hi, thank you for reading this.
Recently purchased LRD4 MY11 with Ivory(white) leather interior, not what I originally set out to buy, but I couldn't pass up the opportunity as the vehicle ticked all the other boxes: country kilos, light towing, no serious off road travel.
Question for you gurus out there, what type of covers can I place my faith in to protect the condition of the leather they will be covering? I intend to hike/camp/fish without impacting the leather seats with soiled and wet clothing: got to have a roll in the mud, as my missus comments on my return.
My mate's got full canvas covers in his vehicle, protecting his cloth trim. There's not rubber underlay or such lining to the canvas, just straight out canvas. Not sure how the canvas may impact the leather, particularly the white leather in my vehicle.
Any suggestions to help choose the right seat cover type?
Happy travels,
Peter

Here's a thread about canvas seat covers.
D4 canvas seat covers
Type in "canvas seat covers" in the Aulro.com search box at the bottom of the page as there are a few more that may help you.

The conclusion of that thread Martin was that unless you're going to put something on your seats that has the potential to rip the leather, through a material like a mechanics cover (like giant breed dogs nails), then just go with what Tombie said.
You'll miss your comfy leather too much if covering up full time. Besides they're so easy to clean.

SubscriberIt's like leaving the plastic on your sofa for ten years then removing it before you sell it. Why would you not have simply bought a plastic sofa to begin with
As above, keep your leather conditioned and cleaned. Use quality leather care products and only use a cover for those abnormal times.

I do the same sort of outdoors thing. A piece of plastic - garden garbage bag sort of thing - on the seat base followed by covering the entire seat with a cheap set of fake wool car seat covers from Supercheap. Easy to fit and remove for washing and when a bit tatty simply dispose and replace.

The Cook reckons she can use the covers we've had on 3 Deafeners and a Prado to protect the seats. I like the uncovered leather or would have bought something with cloth seats.
But I know who'll win the argument.....

Exactly Andrew, but have you tried a common sense argument like that with your cook?
