Good advice. After having been out 4wheeling with you last week Brian, I can attest that you have no more problems on sand. Let's just say that the D4 V8 goes VERY well in soft, boggy dunes!
fair question troglodyte (!) actually I would prefer that Sand Mode automatically disabled DCS. Kind of a no-brianer if you ask me. Don't mind it not putting the car into off-road height as I run rods and would always prefer to do this myself.
Sand mode sets DCS intervention to low (which should be disabled), HDC off, accelerator mapping changed to give fast response, auto starts in 2nd (or 3rd if in low range), launch control active (if fitted)
