I can confirm that anything less than the best fail. I had two bearmachs in a row fail within a few thousand kms
Now 2016 D4 HSE 'Leo' and Steve the Triumph Speed Twin
    Then 2010 D4 3.0 HSE 'James'
Then 2010 RRS TDV8 'Roger' w traxide DBS, UHF, Cooper Zeons, Superchips remap
    Then 2010 D4 TDV6 'Jumbo' w traxide DBS
    First love 2002 D2 TD5 'Disco Stu'

Fronts do look a lot easier than the rear due to replacing the whole hub assembly in one piece.
I'm considering doing all 4 for piece of mind on the next trip though, then i won't carry them as spare parts anymore, significantly bringing down weight...

Not sure which is the better option though, carrying them in case one goes or changing them all and hope that prevents failure.. 215k kms old now.

Good that it was only a front wheel bearing assembly, the rears arent so simple.

and just to add, when the turbo on a D3 is on its way out, it doesnt whistle.... its a metal to metal sound like a wheel bearing on its way out.
