2010 model D4. I do use the inbuilt nav occasionally (usually off-road) but in the main I use my iphone 6 (in a clic-on holder) with Waze (brilliant when there is 3/4G), Hema maps or Co-pilot.

The reality is if you update it will already be out dated and I doubt if anymore updates will be released.

I have a HN7 and it does a great job in town AND in the bush, I haven't seen the HX1 yet but these are pretty handy with heaps of different maps pre installed and if you want you can use it outside the truck as well.
I lot easier than upgrading the "In House" system as well.

It's funny, I was so precious about buying a D4 with the built in sat Nav, I literally didn't even consider the ones with the small radio only screen but In hindsight that was a mistake.

no traffic is annoying, whereas my phone tells me to the minute when I will arrive
    no speed cameras warnings
no speed limits - this can be important when driving out of town (especially with no speed camera warnings!!)
also my meetings are on my phone calandar so it's easier to click directions on that than have to input it on another device. My tip, just use your phone, don't even bother with a Navman.

Also if we are being honest, the 4wd info page is nothing more than a gimmic, even less so if you have surround cameras.

If i'm not mistaken, you couldn't have surround cameras without Nav, right? So you would still "need" to have it...
