Plugs replaced at dealers when vehicle was serviced no idea what they used.i have checked all leads they r connected
I would see if the part number is on the receipt or pull a plug and check - they could be the wrong spec. A service manual should say the correct plug part number or spec. I will try and remember to check mine tomorrow.
I don't know much about plugs but i believe they have a temperature rating which can effect the fuel burn.
That's all I can really think of, but I'm not that educated

pulled plug its NGK-R TR55-1 v-power gap was fine.
service manual has a motor craft plug AGSF24PM.Have car at dealers today see what they have to say.
not sure if this NGK plug is a good plug
cheers
That's what NGK recommend for the motor, though they appear to be a copper core/nickel tip plug, as opposed to a platinum tip.
The manual says Motorcraft AGSF 24PM platinum or SGSF 22L copper plugs with a 1.4mm gap
It notes that the SGSF copper plug is only to be used with Leaded fuels, so that leaves the first option.
The different electrodes may cause your problem, and I would see if you can find a platinum electrode plug to try.
Otherwise, the workshop bumped something which has caused the problem!
You will likely find it had nickel plugs from factory..
Motorcraft AGSF24N

Pick car up from dealers. There answer is that the starter motor is no good and that metal filings from starter motor has contaminated crankshaft sensor which is causing bad fuel economy.$2500 to repair don’t know how this affects fuel economy anyone sure about this diagnosis.
That does not sound plausible to me, I could be wrong though. They've done something to cause it for sure.

2005 Defender 110 Wagon TD5 - Gone :(
It sounds a bit "Suss" that all of a sudden these filings are the culprit, especially when the fuel problem started right after they had done some work on it and was fine prior to going into the workshop.
Maybe they buggered something up inadvertently when they were working on the engine and don't want to Fess up for it.
