If he's not - he wont be coming back in a hurry. In fairness he did say he didnt do his homework - or similar to that effect.

I was expecting to read a list of mechanical failure's and no support from Land Rover , only to read the standard complaint about dealerships and their charges , and the car was outdated and boxy.

Truth be known, land rover are probaly happy that that's all a customer is unhappy about. no warranty work in that list.

    Cheers Ean

The only real problem I've had with mine of much the same age as his is the damn horn continually blowing one morning. In the end I pulled the fuse and LR Assist took it to the stealers who couldn't find a fault.
I shamefacedly admit "' twas me what did it".....
Driving off to get the paper from round the corner I had the window open and a load of water poured in off the roof as I went round the corner..... so I swept it off the door window controls with my hand and reckon I splashed it all over the steering wheel and a bit must have seeped down and shorted out the horn buttons......
    Very embarrassing.
And I apologise to all who may have heard for my rude language at the time.
Apart from that it's a great vehicle and even the Cook who loves Defenders (even more than she loves me!!) is starting to like it.

Oh for an outdated, boxy, practical, bush ready, 4X4 vehicle!

LJ Wilson, if your vehicle makes you so miserable , sell it. Offer it to me at realistic price , but I bet you wont do that even though you bought cheap aftermarket accessories for it. I've looked at the market prices for late D4's , so offer it to me realistically and go buy your LC200....then two people can become very happy. simples.

I think he spent more time on his post than on a pre-purchase look-see.
If you don't like trucks, stop buying stuff.

Funnily enough, when reading your post about your dissatisfaction with your Discovery, it reminds me of a similar letter I was writing to Land Rover after the purchase of my Discovery, almost 25 years ago. Like you, I was deeply annoyed and frustrated about having purchased a vehicle with a plethora of faults and obvious problems (including a gearbox failure at rather low mileage and age). Now, decades later, I still own the truck and several other vehicles of similar age from the same manufacturer.
With other words: take a deep breath, mate, you'll get over it. And if you still are disappointed with the choice of your vehicle, put it on sale and invest the revenue in a Series truck and enjoy the daily smile on your lips ever since.
    Just my 2c...
    Cheers
    Johannes

There are people who spend all weekend cleaning the car.
And there are people who drive Discovery.

Not a Troll.....A troll would have been back to have a crack at each of us. Then he would ask " What is your quest" and What is your favourite colour?" and other perplexing questions that we have no answer for.
    Cheers, Billy.

Trolls come in all shapes and sizes these days, depending on their intelligence they use a range of techniques as well.

That wasn't a troll that asked those questions. It was the old man from scene 23!
