Yes does sound like the early stages of torque converter lockup failure.
Definitely change the transmission fluid (megaflush) and I would do the pan as well but mainly to get a new fliter in it.  I would also give it a dose of Dr Tranny at that time.
If you have caught it early enough you might be lucky but if not you will at least get quite a few thousand km as per Sean's experience before having to pull the box for a new TC.
