I used spray contact adhesive though would recommend the non spray version as it's easier to apply beneath the edges. I glued the whole thing down though the priginal is only glued at the edges onto the plastic.
The material is hard to trim with a blade. Scissors are much easier, though I couldnt get into the tighter corners with them. I would definitely make a better job of it the 2nd time round!
To state the bleedin' obvious, that doesn't sound good. I could understand it with a manual box as there is fairly significant clutch pressure, but in an Auto what puts thrust load on the crank? Be sure to get pics of the crank and bearings when it comes out.
To stay on topic, today I put air in the tyres and drove it for the first time in about 6 weeks. It hasn't broken down yet, but then I've still got to drive it home tonight.
I found this crack in the rear drivers light. Big sad face. No idea how it’s happened. I priced a new one and decided that I might see if I can push the cracked bits straight and add some glue in the short term. I’ve got a can belt replacement at the next servicehttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...7bf1a4c2f4.jpg
Buy cheap,pay twice...[bigsad]
I just replaced the plastic piece on both front seat belts that hold up the buckle so it doesn't slip down on the belt, when the belt is not in use.
Hopefully i have explained that properly.[biggrin]
Got them from a seat belt place,$5.00 for two, easy to fit, just press on.
Hoping they last longer than the originals.
Hopefully this might help someone in the future.
Got the Tug back from DazzaTD5 today after 2 frustrating weeks away (for both of us).
Turns out the ABS main connection plug had dirty terminals/contacts (and a couple of dodgy solders which in turn caused a whole lot of other faults.
Tug has done 250K+ km, with a fair bit of country and some bush towing km involved, so should not have been totally unexpected?
So next time your GAP Tool shows a whole lot of faults and the car wont start - could be a good place to start diagnostics!
Cheers and again thanks to Dazza and his patience - maybe just as well he serviced lift platforms in a former life?
10k service, bit of parts ordering, fitted ProSpeed Rock sliders (thanks gumtree), quicklyncs battery's monitors, used gap to reflash some modules (both doors, atcm, compressor, instruments). Made a booking at dealer to get nav updated finally. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...b9c8280d4e.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...ffd8c37bf7.jpg
